Bio

Thanks for checking out my website, I would like introduce myself and share some things about me and how I became a member of the arm wrestling sport.

My name is Frank R Hirst III I am a Telecom Electrical Technician by day and the father of three wonderful children with many hobbies by night.  Born and raised on a small dairy farm in Griswold, CT, farm boy and master of all trades for as long as I can remember.

Growing up I was always interested in fabricating things weather it be for the farm or for one of my own toys. Day after day I would find myself trying to build things no one else had.  As a boy I built my own Cub Cadet pulling tractor and participated for many years at fairs around New England, which is where I was introduced to “the sport” of arm wrestling. At that time I was only known as the farm boy that whooped everyone at the lunch table so I figured I would give it a shot.  I took home many first place ribbons/trophies and found myself looking for some competition.

About 7 years ago I picked up a flyer for an arm wrestling tournament at a local bar and decided to check it out.  I took home yet another 1st place trophy and impressed many as the new guy in the sport, not only did I leave with the 1st place title that day but a member of Team CT James Retarides (a well known name in the sport) invited me to train with him. James was impressed with my ability and continued to help me train. I would make the hour and a half ride once a week to his place and train with him. From that point on I have taken the sport very seriously and gained the respect of many, today I obtain the nickname of “the prez”. I train hard and I’m a very competitive member of the sport. I enjoy traveling from one tournament to the next and competing against new faces each time I find myself more and more involved in the sport after each event I participate it. Today I not only enjoy pulling but I’m also training two of the up and coming Hirst legacy in my 8 year old daughter Kacee and my 5 year old son Frank Jr.  They both enjoy the sport and we make it a family event when ever possible.
